North Beach is located north of downtown Corpus Christi, just across the Harbor Bridge. This naturally beautiful beach has been a tourist hotspot for over 100 years. Today, North Beach features the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington - an aircraft carrier turned museum. This area of Corpus Christi is so important to our history and our future, the City has created this site to help residents learn more about North Beach and all the efforts made by the City to maintain and revitalize the area. North Beach has a rich history dating back to the turn of the century.
The City is currently working to develop a plan for the drainage needs of North Beach.
The City of Corpus Christi partners with organizations in the area through our office of Local Economic Development to promote long-term growth and prosperity for residents and businesses.
The City's Planning & Environmental Services Department has been developing plans to improve the North Beach area for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
The Proposed 2019 -2020 CIP includes $3,550,254 allocated for North Beach Street Improvement projects.
Bonds from 2008 to 2020 have included projects in the North Beach area.
