Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo

BIOGRAPHY

As Corpus Christi’s 58th Mayor, Paulette M. Guajardo is committed to the City’s growth and economic prosperity. Mayor Guajardo is at the helm of a vibrant community rooted in culture, faith, and a rich history of service. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Mayor Guajardo was a two-term Councilmember and a successful small business owner for 15 years. Mayor Guajardo holds a business degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi, studied at Del Mar College, and is a proud Flour Bluff Hornet.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mayor Guajardo led the City of Corpus Christi’s Saving Our Seniors Homebound Program, which has become model program adopted by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to vaccinate homebound seniors. She created the Connect Our Kids Program, a city-wide plan to bridge the digital divide, formed the Small Business Pandemic Relief Fund, and formed the Mayor’s Food Bank Taskforce to support residents through the pandemic.

Mayor Guajardo is focused on building the economy, strengthening public safety, improving city infrastructure, and redefining the City’s role in public health. She is committed to moving the City forward in a new era of progress. Mayor Guajardo is a devoted mother and wife dedicated to preserving the values of faith and family that make Corpus Christi a wonderful place to call home.

The mayor is a member of city council. This office presides over council meetings and official city ceremonies. The mayor also represents the city on the state, national and international levels.
