This policy and system-specific policies listed below, describe the City of Corpus Christi's privacy practices regarding information collected from visitors to this website (www.cctexas.com) and utilizing the MyCC311 app. It also contains information about what data is collected and how that information is used. When you follow a link to another website, even the sites of state agencies and local governments, this policy will not apply.

The City of Corpus Christi does not sell or rent personally identifiable information. Please be aware that when you provide information to any governmental entity, the information may be subject to the Texas Public Information Act and applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations. Information about the Texas Public Information Act is available from the Office of the Attorney General.

The City of Corpus Christi website uses server log and log analysis tools to create summary statistics about the use of the website. The summary statistics are used for purposes such as assessing what information is most used by visitors and for identifying system performance and problem areas.

For online governmental transactions conducted on the www.cctexas.com website, you will be asked to enter certain information about yourself and/or the organization with which you are affiliated. The information you are required to enter will be dependent on the type of transaction you are conducting with the City of Corpus Christi. The information requested online will be the same information that would be requested if the identical transaction was performed in person instead of online. Whenever this information is requested from you on the website, information will be identified as mandatory or optional. The information collected is used for the following purposes:
 

  • To conduct online transactions with the City of Corpus Christi (e.g., utility bill payments, open service requests, or apply for jobs).
  • To send an e-mail confirmation.
  • To send announcements if you have chosen this service.
     

When conducting online payment transactions on the www.cctexas.com website, these transactions are handled by third party electronic merchant providers that comply with all payment regulations.

Some online government transactions hosted by and linked from this website use cookies. Cookies will be used to deliver content specific to your interest and to monitor website usage. Cookies will be destroyed after a few minutes of inactivity, successfully completing a transaction, or when the browser is closed. 311 iOS Mobile Privacy Policy

My CC311 is a mobile application that citizens and visitors can download on their mobile devices and receive 24/7 up-to-date information about city events, place a service request, or ask general questions.

The City of Corpus Christi may provide push notifications through real-time messaging alerting users about Citywide information and events such as, but not limited to, emergency weather notifications and school closings. These notifications will only be provided to users who opt-in to receive such notifications. If a user subsequently chooses to no longer receive the push notifications, such notifications may be disabled by changing the settings via the settings page of the user’s mobile device.

The collection of personal information on the mobile app is limited to that which is reasonably necessary to address clients’ needs. Personal information collected on the MyCC311 mobile app will be used to ensure compatibility with the technology used by 311 clients and to improve services on the mobile app. This information may include but is not limited to the location of mobile device; device ID; type of browser and operating system; date and time user accessed photos, media files, and documents sent to the mobile app; domain name of Internet Service Provider and/or mobile device; sections of the app accessed and forms data; and the IP address of the Internet Service Provider and/or the mobile device. The 311 mobile app does not use this data for commercial or marketing purposes and does not sell, exchange, or otherwise distribute the collected data for commercial or marketing purposes.

Any photos taken and uploaded through the mobile app may reveal the location coordinates of where the photo was taken.

Please be aware that when you provide information to any government entity, that information may be subject to the Texas Public Information Act and applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations. Information about the Texas Public Information Act is available from the Office of the Attorney General at www.oag.state.tx.us. Each governmental body must be contacted directly about the records they keep and their use of personally identifiable information.
