Federal services are also available to assist residents. On February 19, 2021, President Joseph Biden approved a major disaster declaration to counties across Texas, including Nueces County. Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in Nueces County or other counties listed in the declaration can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, downloading the FEMA app, or by calling 1-800-621-3362 (1-800-462-7585 TTY).
