NOTE: This program only applies to Corpus Christi, Texas residents, if you live in a city outside of Corpus Christi, you must apply directly to similar programs provided by your county or the State of Texas.

  • Both landlords and renters may apply.
  • The program can provide assistance with past-due rent, late fees, utilities and forward rent payments for applicants.


Corpus Christi is launching the U.S. Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance Program to provide emergency rental assistance to Corpus Christi residents who are at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On December 27, 2020 the President signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 which included Coronavirus Stimulus & Relief (Act). The Act includes the Treasury’s $25 billion ERA program. The Treasury has allocated $9,868,157.30 to the City of Corpus Christi for residential rental assistance.

To apply, applicants can call (361) 724-3085, visit, or visit the La Retama Central Library at 805 Comanche Street. Applications will be accepted at the La Retama Central Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours on Saturdays are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
