  • The program can provide assistance with past-due rent, late fees, utilities and forward rent payments for applicants.


Corpus Christi is launching the U.S. Treasury Emergency Rental Assistance Program to provide emergency rental assistance to Corpus Christi residents who are at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On December 27, 2020 the President signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 which included Coronavirus Stimulus & Relief (Act). The Act includes the Treasury’s $25 billion ERA program. The Treasury has allocated $9,868,157.30 to the City of Corpus Christi for residential rental assistance.

The program is using an Applicant Portal,, that can be accessed by both landlords and tenants online. Applicants can call 361-724-3085 with questions. For those unable to apply online, there are computers for use at the La Retama Central Library at 805 Comanche Street. In-person assistance for your application is available at the La Retama Central Library on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
