July 14, 2023
The contractor is currently working on punch list items and cleaning the project site. The project is 95% complete.

March 3, 2023
The contractor is laying the final hot mix on Leopard Street at the Palm Drive intersection. Once complete, they will install two bus pads and then begin striping the roadway. The project is currently 95% complete.

November 21, 2022 
The contractor has completed the waterline tie-ins at the Palm Drive intersection and is currently working on the limestone base and asphalt roadway installation at that location. The Nueces Bay Boulevard intersection "limestone compaction" has been completed.  The contractor will be working on minor concrete sidewalk repairs along Leopard Street and plan on installing the final asphalt roadway in the coming weeks.

September 14, 2022 
The contractor recently completed the installation of two waterline tie-ins at the Nueces Bay and Leopard Street intersection. They are currently working on the roadway base material at the same intersection and plan to continue the roadway installation, weather permitting.

July 5, 2022 
The contractor has completed the new concrete island, curb, and gutters at the intersection of Buddy Lawrence Drive, Nueces Bay Boulevard and Leopard Street. The new roadway has been primed and compacted in preparation for the new asphalt. Next week, City IT will be removing and relocating utility lines.

April 19, 2022 
The contractor has completed the storm water, water, and sewer line installation. The majority of the first layer of asphalt roadway has also been installed.  The contractor is currently working on ADA ramps, curbs, gutters, driveways and once complete the first layer of asphalt will be placed at these locations. In the coming weeks they will complete the gas line modifications, traffic signal removal, and sidewalk installation. The project is estimated to be 85% complete.

January 14, 2022 
Phase 2 of construction on the Leopard Street Project will begin with the transition of travel lanes from the north side of Leopard Street to the newly constructed south side (eastbound lanes) of the roadway. Single lanes of travel for eastbound and westbound traffic will remain open during Phase 2 of construction on Leopard Street from Palm Drive to Nueces Bay Boulevard. Access to sidewalks and driveways along the Leopard Street will be maintained.

November 23, 2021 
The contractor is currently pouring concrete for new curbs and gutters on the South side of Leopard Street. Limestone compaction and prime coating has been completed and they plan to lay asphalt on the South side of Leopard Street on November 29th.

October 19, 2021 
The contractor has completed installing the new 12” sanitary sewer line and manholes. Currently they are repairing subgrade, geogrid and limestone between Pierpont Street to Battlin Buc Boulevard that was damaged during the last heavy rain event. Starting next week they will continue with the installation of new curbs and gutters.

September 14, 2021 
The contractor is working on the eastbound lanes where they’re currently installing the new sanitary sewer line.  The installation of the concrete curbs and gutters have been completed from Nueces Bay Boulevard to Lily Street. They’ve also installed the new asphalt roadway base from Nueces Bay Boulevard to Battlin Buc Boulevard.

July 7, 2021 
The Leopard Street project is moving forward as planned despite wet weather. Stormwater piping has been installed from Nueces Bay Boulevard to the Battling Buc Intersection and the new 12” waterline installation to Buccaneer Stadium continues. The contractor anticipates the connection to the 16” waterline next week, weather permitting.

June 2, 2021
This week Clark Pipeline worked on the installation of a new 12” water line between Nueces Bay Blvd and Lily Street. They’re also working on the installation of the storm water line between Nueces Bay Boulevard and Rose Street. More information will follow as the project progresses.
