The Neighborhood Enforcement Team is in charge of the following units: Enduro, Bike and UTV. The unit also oversees all of the Directed Patrol Officers (DPO) that are assigned to the 4 Patrol Districts throughout the city. The Corpus Christi Police Crime Prevention Unit is also assigned to the Neighborhood Enforcement Team. These civilian positions interact with the community and give them the best resources for fighting crime. Code Enforcement is also a vital piece of the Neighborhood Enforcement Team as well. Collectively, this unit has the resources and the flexibility to remedy issues from the beginning to enforcement if necessary.
Four officers comprise the Enduro Unit. Enduro bikes are street legal motorcycles that are specially designed for off road use as well. This greatly enhances their ability to patrol a variety of terrains. Their primary task is to focus on "quality of life" issues. They can frequently be seen riding downtown and within the Leopard St. corridor. Enduro officers consider themselves to be "ambassadors for the city and the department."
The Corpus Christi Police Crime Prevention Unit conducts home safety inspections, crime prevention presentations, and manages the 27 Neighbors on Watch programs.
