Traffic Alert: Ayers Street and Sunnybrook Road Intersection Closure

PROJECT COMPLETE - The Engineering Services and Public Works Departments are excited to announce the completion of the Ayers St. Pedestrian & Turn Lane Project.

The Bond 2014 Ayers Street Pedestrian and Turn Lane Improvements Project from South Padre Island Drive to Gollihar Road will include reconstruction and widening of the existing 4-lane roadway to 5 lanes, ADA compliant ramps and ADA sidewalks will be extended up to the RTA transit station at Port Ayers, new turn lanes at the intersection Ayers/Mansheim and Ayers/Sunnybrook. Additional work will include; storm drainage enhancements, pavement markings and minor utility work. Construction is anticipated to take 28 months.

The City of Corpus Christi adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.69 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $16.87.
