Establishing Natural Gas Service “Getting Connected”

  1. The Homeowner must hire a certified, licensed plumber. The plumber will file for a plumbing permit and gas tap application at Development Services or online with the Dynamic Portal:

    Payments will need to be made for the plumbing permit and gas tap fees.

  2. CC Gas will make gas tap within 20- 45 business days, once the gas tap fee is paid.
     
  3. A licensed plumber should install gas lines from the meter to the appliances after plumbing permit has been issued.
     
  4. An inspector from Development Services will need to perform a final inspection and approve or disapprove if corrections are needed.
     
  5. After the final plumbing inspection passes, call or visit the Utility Billing Office to open your gas account.

  6. To request a meter set, please call 311 with the following criteria:
    1. Address needing a meter set.
    2. Contact name and phone number of person requesting meter.
    3. Plumber business name, contact name and phone number.
    4. Gas appliances being installed at the address needing a meter.
    5. Total BTU load of gas appliances.
    6. Permit number
       
  7. Once the account is established, the Gas Department will set the meter within 1-2 business days.
     
  8. Gas Technicians will connect the meter to the house line and pressure test the gas system and appliances. Gas will be left on when the test shows no leaks. Customer must be present for meter set, turn on and test.
