Establishing Natural Gas Service “Getting Connected”

  1. The Homeowner needs to hire a plumber, the plumber will file for a plumbing permit and gas tap application at Development Services or online with the Dynamic Portal:

    Payments will need to be made for the plumbing permit and gas tap fees.

  2. Corpus Christi Gas will make gas tap within 15 to 20 business days once gas tap fee is paid.
     
  3. Licensed plumber should install gas lines from the meter to the appliances after plumbing permit has been issued.
     
  4. An inspector from Development Services will need to perform a final inspection and approve or disapprove if corrections are needed.
     
  5. After the final plumbing inspection, call or visit the Utility Billing Office to open your gas account and request a meter set.

  6. Once the account is established, Corpus Christi Gas will set the meter within 24 hrs.
     
  7. Gas Technicians will connect the meter to the house line and pressure test the gas system and appliances. Gas will be left on when the test shows no leaks. Customer must be present for meter set, turn on and test.
