The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department operates four recreation centers located throughout the city which offer programs for youth ages 6-16. We are dedicated to promoting character development, leadership, education, and healthy living through our many fun and exciting activities and programs.

Step inside our haunted house of horrors if you dare! Celebrate Halloween as it should be. We invite everyone to come in costume and show us your scary or fun side. Admission is $3/person and children ages nine or younger must be accompanied by an adult to enter. The Nightmares on Swantner Street Flyer offers more details.

SCHOOL-YEAR SEASON PROGRAMS
After School Program - FREE!
This is an open campus afterschool program for youth ages 6-16 which operates Monday–Friday from 3–7pm in conjunction with the Corpus Christi ISD schedule, from August through May each year. Youth have the opportunity to engage in special programs, homework tutorials, arts and crafts, sports, games, and much more at our four recreation centers. Micro-Soccer Co-ed Youth League
This is a 6-week program held in the spring and fall for children ages 4-6 that is specially designed with a modified field and goals. Games are played on Saturdays. CAMPS & CLASSES
Youth with different interests have the opportunity to participate in camps with a variety of activities. These camps are designed to instill sportsmanship, build coordination, foster friendships and engage youth in new and exciting experiences. Please check back to this page periodically for updates.

NEW: "Mr. J's Cosplay Academy"
Enroll in our Fall 2018 “Mr. J’s Cosplay Academy” for ages 10 and older. Learn from a trained and experienced professional about how to build your own cosplay costume, perform and market yourself to become a professional cosplayer. Instruction will be provided by John Pantoja who is the Corpus Christi Joker. It will be fun and exciting! SPECIAL EVENTS & PROGRAMS
All City recreation centers host special events throughout the year, such as dances and holiday celebrations. Events may include movies in the park, community trash cleanups, gardening clubs, cooking demonstrations, and health awareness.

The event will offer many exciting activities for Comic, Anime & Superhero Fans + Gamers. Fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite cosplay or anime character and to mingle with other fans. Enjoy performances, a magic show, movie screening, workshops, wrestling, vendor booths, and more! Come to test your skills against other gamers in our video tournaments. Join the exciting world of comic book characters and its community!
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers S.P.A.R.K. (Summer Program and Recreation for Kids) for ages of 6-16 during June–August, at five sites. Recreation activities such as arts and crafts, tournaments, board games, indoor and outdoor play, guest speakers, and other activities are offered at all four recreation centers and the Ben Garza Gym throughout the summer. FREE lunch and snack will be provided for youth who participate. This is an open campus recreation program provided in a generally supervised environment for registered participants. Space is limited and all youth must be registered. All children attending the program must be accompanied each day by an adult to ensure space is still available on any given day. Fee is $25/child/week or a drop-in fee of $10/child/day and scholarships will be available for persons who qualify. On-site registration will not be offered. "Lunch's On Us!"
Every summer, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department sponsors the “Lunch’s On Us!” Summer Food Service Program. Lunch and afternoon snacks are provided FREE of charge for all youth ages 1-18 at several locations throughout the city. Lunch is served from 11:30am–1pm and an afternoon snack from 2:30pm–3:30pm, Monday–Friday. For the list of participating sites and more information, call the Summer Food Hotline at (361) 826-3467. Celebrate your special occasions at our recreation centers. You have several options with four centers located throughout the city. Book your next birthday and graduation parties, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and other special events with us. A rental includes the use of the social hall, game room and kitchen, along with tables and chairs.
