March 9, 2023: The contractor has completed hydro-mulching the project and will continue to maintain it throughout the duration of the project. The subcontractor has been forming bent caps nine and ten in preparation of grouting. They also continue to work on piling jacket preparations.

March 8, 2023: Today, the contractor is Hydro mulching the area around the bridge. The subcontractor will continue to chip bent caps nine and ten. An additional crew is now onsite working on preparations for the pile jackets.

January 19, 2023: The contractor will complete the grading of the roadway embankment on the east side of the bridge today and will transition to the west of the bridge tomorrow. The structural repair sub-contractor will be bringing in additional barges and a sky lift today in preparation for pile repairs.

January 3, 2023: The contractor has finished the forming and placement of steel for the revetment wall on the east side of the bridge. The contractor plans on placing shotcrete on the revetment wall tomorrow morning.

December 31, 2022 - January 2, 2023: Due to the New Years' holiday, work on the Mud Bridge will commence on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

December 30, 2022: The contractor completed the concrete footer on the east side of the bridge. They backfilled the area with bull rock and started placing rebar for concrete retaining wall.

December 29, 2022: The contractor is placing the last concrete footing section on the southeast side of the bridge today, then they will move to the northwest side of the bridge and start working on the footer for that side of the bridge.

December 27, 2022: The contractor continued work on the Mud Bridge today. They are currently working to form and place the embankment footer on the South side of the bridge.

December 23 - December 26, 2022: Work on the Mud Bridge project is halted due to inclement weather and the Christmas holiday. Work will commence on Tuesday, December 27th.

December 22, 2022: The contractor will continue excavation work and concrete pours of the revetment wall footings on the east side of the bridge today. They are working to build an access road on the west side of the bridge to ensure safe entry and exit for equipment and materials into the work zone. Additionally, work is underway to build a barrier system on the west side to keep the water from flowing into the work zone. Due to inclement weather, work will be halted after today until Tuesday, December 27th.

December 21, 2022: The City’s contractor will begin pouring the concrete footings on the east side (Flour Bluff side) of the channel bank. The structural engineering consultant will begin conducting a comprehensive assessment of the bridge pilings to determine if additional repairs are necessary.

December 20, 2022: Today, the contractor will be pumping water out of the work zone and plans to begin excavation of the revetment wall footers.

December 19, 2022: The contractor for the Yorktown Mud Bridge started work on the emergency repairs of the bridge last week. The contractor made limited progress over the weekend due to high tides and increased wave action. Today, the contractor is pumping out water and repairing the areas affected by this weekend’s high tides.

December 16, 2022: The City of Corpus Christi hosted a news conference (video below) regarding the ongoing repairs to the Yorktown Mud Bridge.
TRAFFIC DETOUR
All traffic traveling east on Yorktown Boulevard will be turned around at Krypton Drive. Westbound traffic is being turned around at Arman Street. Local access is being allowed to residents only. Motorists who use the Yorktown Mud Bridge for access to-or-from Flour Bluff will need to use SPID until the bridge is repaired.
