This week, the contractor continued clean-up of the construction lay down yard at Doddridge Park and worked to complete installation of permanent pavement markings on side streets along Ocean Drive.

Next week, installation of street signage is expected to be completed and work to complete minor construction items will continue. Grass installation at the former construction lay down yard at Doddridge Park is also expected to begin next week.

This week, installation of the final riding surface and road striping was completed on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive at the Louisiana intersection. Manhole and valve adjustments along southbound Ocean Drive from Louisiana Avenue to Leming Avenue were also completed.

This week, the contractor completed installation of final riding surface at crossovers along Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue.
Next week, application of final road striping along Ocean Drive is expected to reach completion. Northbound traffic along Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue will remain restricted to one lane until final road striping is complete.

Phase 8: Southbound Lanes, Ocean Drive and Louisiana Avenue Intersection
This week, milling and subsurface repairs for the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive at the Louisiana Avenue intersection were completed and installation of final riding surface began.
Next week, final riding surface installation will continue on the southbound shoulder of Ocean Drive at the Louisiana intersection. A single lane closure for southbound Ocean Drive from Louisiana Avenue to Leming Avenue will allow the contractor to complete valve adjustments and final riding surface installation on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive.
Phase 6 & 9: Northbound Lanes, Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue
Installation of final riding surface at crossovers along Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue will also continue next week. Single lane closures for southbound Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue will be made to allow for the completion of this work. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route for southbound Ocean Drive from Louisiana Avenue to Airline Road to avoid delays.
Pre-Project Completion Preparations
The contractor will address manhole and valve adjustments next week in the northbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Ennis Joslin Road to Airline Road. Temporary daily lane closures will be implemented in the northbound lanes of Ocean Drive to allow for the adjustments.

This week, final riding surface installation was completed on the shoulder and outside lane of northbound Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue. The contractor moved forward with paving park entrances and conducting manhole and valve adjustments along Ocean Drive in the same area. Additionally, installation of the final riding surface continued this week on crossovers along Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Robert Drive.
Asphalt repairs began this week along the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive at the intersections of South Shore Place, Baycliff Drive, and Montclaire Drive. Temporary daytime closures for each separate intersection will be utilized to allow for repair work.
Next week, the contractor will conduct a temporary closure of the Ocean Drive and Louisiana Avenue intersection for southbound traffic in order to complete subsurface repair and installation of the final riding surface in the southbound lanes at the intersection. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Santa Fe Street. Additionally, work to complete installation of the final riding surface will continue along Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue.
Temporary Lane Closures:
Beginning on Monday, April 25, the contractor will conduct a temporary closure of the Ocean Drive and Louisiana Avenue intersection for southbound traffic. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Santa Fe Street. Access will remain open to the southbound lanes and side streets along Ocean Drive from Leming Avenue to Airline Road.
Eastbound lanes of Louisiana Avenue from Santa Fe Street to Ocean Drive will be closed to thru traffic, residential access will be maintained. There will be no outlet onto Ocean Drive from Louisiana Avenue for the duration of the closure.

Manhole and valve adjustments also began in the outside northbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue.
Next week, the contractor will continue installation of the final riding surface at park entrances and on the northbound shoulder of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue. Manhole and valve adjustments will also continue.

This week, final riding surface installation was completed along the inside northbound lane of Ocean Drive from Robert Drive to Louisiana Avenue. Completion of this work allowed the contractor to progress with transitioning northbound traffic to the newly paved inside lane of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue.
On Monday, April 4, the contractor will conduct a temporary detour of northbound traffic on Ocean Drive at the Airline Road intersection. Traffic will be detoured west down Airline Road to northbound Gaines Street and then to Robert Drive to return to Ocean Drive. This detour will allow for completion of the final riding surface in the turning lanes and northbound lanes of the Ocean Drive and Airline Road intersection.
Next week, final riding surface installation will move forward on the northbound outside lane and shoulder of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue. This work is expected to last 2-3 weeks and will include paving for Park entrances. Additionally, the contractor will complete work for final riding surface installation at the Ocean Drive and Airline Road intersection.

Phase 6 & 9: Northbound Lanes, Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue
Despite weather delays this week the contractor was able to complete work for the road repair and installation of the final riding surface in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive. This repair work was conducted following the discovery of a water leak at the 4000 block of Ocean Drive.
On Friday, March 11, the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Doddridge Street to Airline Road will be opened for traffic. Installation of the final riding surface and pavement markings have been completed for this Phase of the “Revive the Drive” Rehabilitation Project. Additionally, the contractor will conduct a closure of the outside northbound lane of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue. This lane closure includes the northbound bike lane and will allow the contractor to conduct full depth spot repairs of the roadway.
Next week, the contractor will begin subsurface repairs and final riding surface installation on the outside northbound lane of Ocean Drive from Robert Drive to Doddridge Street.

This week, repairs to road subgrade and installation of the final riding surface were completed in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive near the Doddridge Street intersection. Additionally, work progressed to complete manhole and valve adjustments on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Doddridge Street to Jackson Place.
After discovering a waterline leak in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive between Robert Drive and Doddridge Street this week, construction crews worked swiftly to repair the leak and roadway subgrade.
Following the waterline repair, next week the contractor plans to complete the re-installation of the final riding surface on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive between Robert Drive and Doddridge Street. Once this work is complete, the contractor plans to open the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Doddridge Street to traffic.

This week, repairs to the storm water system have been completed in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive near the Doddridge Street intersection. Work is underway to complete repairs to the road subsurface in the area.
Next week, the contractor plans to complete the installation of the final riding surface on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive near the Doddridge Street intersection. The contractor will conduct a temporary intersection closure of the Doddridge Street and Ocean Drive intersection to complete the work. Additionally, work to complete manhole and valve adjustments on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Doddridge Street to Jackson Place will also move forward next week.
Temporary Intersection Closure:
The Ocean Drive and Doddridge Street intersection will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, February 28, and Tuesday, March 1. Eastbound traffic on Doddridge Street will be detoured to Santa Fe Street with a flagger. Traffic on Ocean Drive will be detoured past the Doddridge Street intersection for the duration of the temporary closure.

The traffic switch scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 10, has been delayed to allow for the completion of storm water system repairs on Ocean Drive near the Doddridge Street intersection. A traffic switch will be implemented and installation of the final riding surface will resume following the storm water repairs.

This week, exploratory work continued for a storm water line in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive near the Doddridge Street intersection. Despite wet weather conditions, repairs for the storm water line also began this week.
Next week, asphalt paving operations are expected to begin on the outside lanes of Ocean Drive from Ropes Street to Louisiana Avenue. Additionally, repairs are expected to continue on the storm water system for Ocean Drive near the Doddridge Street intersection. The City has determined these repairs will improve storm water drainage.

Phase 5B & 8B: SB Lanes Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue
This week, 2-inch milling operations began on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Robert Drive and work progressed to Doddridge Street. Repairs and new concrete installations were completed this week for curb, sidewalk and driveways along Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Louisiana Avenue. Additionally, valve and manhole adjustments in the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive have also been completed.
Next week, 2-inch milling operations will continue on the southbound lanes and crossovers of Ocean Drive from Doddridge Street to Louisiana Boulevard. Following the completion of 2-inch milling operations the contractor will begin asphalt installation on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive.

This work is expected to last for 1 more week. Additionally, work on asphalt pavement on Ocean Way has been completed.

This week, the contractor worked on the 4-inch mill and fill in the northbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Airline Road and Ropes Street. Next week, a traffic switch, manhole adjustments, and curb repairs will take place from Ropes Street to Louisiana Avenue.
Last week during milling operations in the northbound lanes, crews discovered a large utility manhole that will need to be repaired just south of Doddridge Street. City Staff is currently working on a design solution and hope to begin construction next week.

Due to the extensive rain event this week the Ocean Drive contractor was unable to complete the planned milling and sub-surface repair as scheduled. It is anticipated that the heavy rains may have caused damage to the current subgrade causing it to become overly saturated. If this is the case the contractor will need to allow it to dry before moving forward. Next week, the contractor along with City Staff will evaluate the roadway and make a final determination.

Phase 2: Airline Road to Ropes Street
Phase 2 of the Ocean Drive Rehabilitation Project has begun. This week traffic control was installed on Ocean Drive from Airline Road to Ropes Street. Northbound lanes of Ocean Drive will be closed for repairs on intermittent sections of curb and adjustments to manholes and valves. A two-way traffic switch has been implemented to allow for travel on the southbound lanes of Ocean Drive.
Next week, milling operations are scheduled to begin.

This week the final riding surface was installed on the park entrances and shoulder of the northbound lanes of Ocean Drive from Ennis Joslin Road to the Airline Road intersection. Valve and manhole adjustments in the northbound lanes are also completed.
Next week, striping and traffic switch will be done and this will complete Phase 1 of the project.
Construction for the next phase of the project between Airline Road and Ropes Street is expected to begin in the coming weeks. During Phase 2 of the project, a two-lane traffic switch will be implemented, closing northbound lanes on Ocean Drive and detouring two-way traffic to the southbound lanes.

Preliminary work continued this week on the Ocean Drive: Louisiana Ave. to Ennis Joslin Road Project. The contractor continued to bring in needed equipment and materials for the project. These materials are being stored at Swantner Park. Next week, the contractor plans to work on manholes, valve adjustments, and curb replacements on Northbound Ocean Drive between Ennis Joslin Road and Airline Road. Street milling operations are currently scheduled to start on November 16th.

Preliminary work continued this week on the Ocean Drive: IH-37 to Ennis Joslin Road Project. The lay down yard and fencing located at Swantner Park was installed this week. This space will hold construction materials needed for the project. Next week, the contractor plans to begin work on area manholes, valve adjustments, and curb replacements. Street milling operations is now set for November 12th.

The Ocean Drive: IH-37 to Ennis Joslin Road project continued this week. The contractor began installing the perimeter traffic control this week with the majority of the implementation taking place next week. A tentative date for the milling process is set for November 9th. The City’s communication team completed the mailing of informational brochures to Ocean Drive residents this week. Additionally, updates will be provided throughout the construction process.

The Ocean Drive: IH-37 to Ennis Joslin Road project began last week. The General Contractor is currently working with the City’s Traffic Engineering Department to finalize the traffic control plan that will be installed in the coming weeks. There was also some minor work done on storm inlets to assist with drainage along the construction path. The City’s Communication Department in coordination with the Engineering Department are currently in the process of notifying residents and business owners about the upcoming construction. Next week, the contractor plans to begin some perimeter traffic control implementation with the bulk of the install to begin the first week of November.
