The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (Public Law 116-136) was signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020 (“CARES” Act), the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) has allocated additional Emergency Solutions Grant Funds (“ESG”) and Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”) to respond to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The City of Corpus Christi has received approximately $2.4 Million dollars in Federal funds from the CARES Act to prevent, prepare for, and respond to Coronavirus. The City has put together a program on how these funds can be used to help average working families in Corpus Christi. The program was approved by City Council on April 21, 2020.
