The City Auditor is appointed by and reports to the City Council through an Audit Committee. The City Auditor evaluates if the City:
- Accomplishes its goals and objectives
- Operates effectively, efficiently, and economically
- Accounts for and safeguards assets from loss, damage, or inappropriate use
- Complies with laws, regulations, established policies and procedures, and/or contract terms
- Implements, controls, and promotes their effectiveness at a reasonable cost
