MAY 25, 2021
_______
The Chapter 6 Ordinance Revision focuses on owner responsibility, resolving neglect, resolving nuisances, and modifying some definitions.
CCACS aims to increase the Live Release Rate - the rate at which animals leave the shelter alive through adoption, return to owner, or rescue. ACS has consistently seen this metric climb in recent years, and new ordinances are designed to help us in these continued efforts.

Goal: Reduce Strays
CCACS aims to reduce the number of strays primarily through adoption, return to owner, or rescue.

Goal: Reduce Neglect
CCACS aims to improve the quality of life for our animals by revising the Chapter 6 Ordinance to focus on owner responsibility.

Goal: Reduce Nuisances
CCACS aims to improve public safety by revising the Chapter 6 Ordinance to dissuade persons who feed neighborhood animals.
