What is a Directed Patrol Officer?
A directed patrol officer is a uniformed officer who is assigned to a particular area defined by beat locations. These officers serve as liaisons between members of the community, the Police Department and other city departments. They work closely with citizens and businesses in their assigned areas to develop and implement innovative crime control and prevention measures. The Directed Patrol program is funded by the Crime Control and Prevention District.
