The City of Corpus Christi offers several programs to provide chronically homeless persons with basic shelter and essential supportive services.

A chronically homeless person is defined as an individual with a disabling condition who has been continuously homeless for a year or more or has had at least four episodes of homelessness in the past three years. To be considered chronically homeless, a person must have been sleeping in a place not meant for human habitation (e.g. living on the streets) and/or in an emergency shelter during that time.
