The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department operates four recreation centers located throughout the city which offer programs for youth ages 6-16. We are dedicated to promoting character development, leadership, education, and healthy living through our many fun and exciting activities and programs.

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers S.P.A.R.K. (Summer Program and Recreation for Kids) for ages of 6-16 during June 10–August 2, 2019, at five sites. Recreation activities such as arts and crafts, tournaments, board games, indoor and outdoor play, guest speakers, and other activities are offered at all four recreation centers and the Ben Garza Gym throughout the summer. FREE lunch and snack will be provided for youth who participate. This is an open campus recreation program provided in a generally supervised environment for registered participants. Space is limited and all youth must be registered. All children attending the program must be accompanied each day by an adult to ensure space is still available on any given day. Fee is $25/child/week or a drop-in fee of $10/child/day and scholarships will be available for persons who qualify. On-site registration will not be offered. Early registration is strongly encouraged. Registration is ongoing, space permitting.

"Lunch's On Us!"

Every summer, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department sponsors the “Lunch’s On Us!” Summer Food Service Program. Lunch and afternoon snacks are provided FREE of charge for all youth ages 1-18 at several locations throughout the city. Lunch is served from 11:30am–1pm and an afternoon snack from 2:30pm–3:30pm, Monday–Friday. Registration is not required for this program. After School Program - FREE!

This is an open campus afterschool program for youth ages 6-16 which operates Monday–Friday from 3–7pm in conjunction with the Corpus Christi ISD schedule, from August through May each year. Youth have the opportunity to engage in special programs, homework tutorials, arts and crafts, sports, games, and much more at our four recreation centers. It offers general supervision for the children. Space is limited. Registration by all youth is required to attend. ► Please check back to this page in August 2020 for registration and more details. 

After School Snack Program - FREE!

An afternoon snack will be provided daily at all recreation centers. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact the site director. An alternate snack may be provided with a signed letter of authorization from a physician. If the parent provides the snack, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is not responsible for meeting the child's daily nutritional needs. The City is an equal opportunity provider.

Micro-Soccer Co-ed Youth League

This is a 6-week program held in the spring and fall for children ages 4-6 that is specially designed with a modified field and goals. Games are played on Saturdays. Youth with different interests have the opportunity to participate in camps with a variety of activities. These camps are designed to instill sportsmanship, build coordination, foster friendships and engage youth in new and exciting experiences. Please check back to this page periodically for updates.


Our recreational facilities offer various classes for both youth and adults at affordable rates. Classes include martial arts, fitness, dance, and much more. For current class availability, or to register, please visit our online registration page.

All City recreation centers host special events throughout the year, such as dances and holiday celebrations. Events may include movies in the park, community trash cleanups, gardening clubs, cooking demonstrations, and health awareness.

Celebrate your special occasions at our recreation centers. You have several options with four centers located throughout the city. Book your next birthday and graduation parties, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and other special events with us. A rental includes the use of the social hall, game room and kitchen, along with tables and chairs.
