The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department operates four recreation centers located throughout the city which offer programs for youth ages 6-16. We are dedicated to promoting character development, leadership, education, and healthy living through our many fun and exciting activities and programs.
Summer 2022 Activity Kits

Drive thru for your activities kits on Friday, June 24, from 5pm–6:30pm at Joe Garza Recreation Center, 3204 Highland Avenue. We will be giving away 300 Kits filled with water blasters, water balloons, arts & crafts, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and snacks. Limit of one kit per person. We will play it safe, so as you drive through for your kits, please stay in your vehicle at all times. Registration is NOT required. For more information, please call (361) 826-3460.
Summer 2022 "S.P.A.R.K." Program
Youth ages 6-16 will be engaged all summer long in our recreation centers' S.P.A.R.K. program — from playing pool, foosball, air-hockey, and arcade games to getting creative with arts and crafts, as well as outdoor sports, field trips and so much more!
The S.P.A.R.K. (Summer Program and Recreation for Kids) program will operate Monday–Friday from June 6–July 29. Morning and afternoon sessions are available to select from. ONLINE REGISTRATION will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6, and will remain open until filled. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. On-site registration will not be offered. Space is limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged!

SCHOOL-YEAR SEASON PROGRAMS
After School Program - FREE!
This is an open campus afterschool program for youth ages 6-16 which operates in conjunction with the Corpus Christi ISD schedule from September through June each year. Youth have the opportunity to engage in special programs, homework tutorials, arts and crafts, sports, games, and much more at our four recreation centers. It offers general supervision for the children. Space is limited. Registration by all youth is required to attend. After School Snack Program - FREE!
An afternoon snack will be provided daily at all recreation centers. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact the site director. An alternate snack may be provided with a signed letter of authorization from a physician. If the parent provides the snack, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is not responsible for meeting the child's daily nutritional needs. The City is an equal opportunity provider.
Micro-Soccer Co-ed Youth League
This is an 8-week program held in the spring and fall for children ages 4-6 that is specially designed with a modified field and goals. Games are played on Saturdays. SPECIAL EVENTS & PROGRAMS
All City recreation centers host special events throughout the year, such as dances and holiday celebrations. Events may include movies in the park, community trash cleanups, gardening clubs, cooking demonstrations, and health awareness. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers S.P.A.R.K. (Summer Program and Recreation for Kids) for ages 6-16 from June to July each summer. Recreation activities such as arts and crafts, tournaments, board games, indoor and outdoor play, guest speakers, and other activities are offered at participating recreation centers throughout the summer. This is an open campus recreation program provided in a generally supervised environment for registered participants. Space is limited and all youth must be registered. Participants must be signed in daily by an adult.
CAMPS & CLASSES
Youth with different interests have the opportunity to participate in camps with a variety of activities. These camps are designed to instill sportsmanship, build coordination, foster friendships, and engage youth in new and exciting experiences. Celebrate your special occasions at our recreation centers. You have several options with four centers located throughout the city. Book your next birthday and graduation parties, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and other special events with us. A rental includes the use of the social hall, game room and kitchen, along with tables and chairs.
