June 25, 2020 - In light of the increase in COVID-19 cases throughout the Coastal Bend, the Mayor’s 4th of July Big Bang Celebration Fireworks will be postponed. The annual firework display was scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m.

“In order to protect our friends and neighbors, we need to postpone the fireworks,” said Mayor Joe McComb. “We are already looking at alternative dates to have the fireworks which are generously sponsored by H-E-B. By finding an alternative date, we can protect not only our residents but also those first responders and city employees working the event,” added McComb.

As a reminder, residents are urged to continue hygiene and safety precautions including wearing a face covering and limiting gatherings to slow the spread of the virus. To find out more about COVID-19 resources visit www.cctexas.com/coronavirus.
