Samuel "Keith" Selman, Assistant City Manager
Samuel "Keith" Selman was born in Raleigh, North Carolina while his father was lecturing at North Carolina State University. Steering from a family tradition steeped in agriculture, Keith obtained a bachelor of science in the field of geography from the University of South Alabama and a masters degree in city and regional planning from Clemson University. After finishing his studies, which included a semester of urban design in Genoa, Italy, he applied his skills in the Peace Corps in the Solomon Islands where he advised provincial leaders on development issues.
For twenty years Keith served the City of Laredo in the Planning Department with fifteen years as the Planning and MPO Director. After retiring from the City of Laredo, he relocated to Clyde, Texas to serve as City Manager. He is a member of the American Planning Association, the American Institute of Certified Planners, and Texas City Managers Association.
