City Manager Announces Four City Appointments
City Manager Ron Olson announced four staffing appointments for key positions within the City organization earlier to today at the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. The appointments include: Alyssa Michelle Barrera, Business Liaison; Belinda Mercado, Deputy Director of Municipal Information Systems; Carlos Gonzalez, Director of Facilities and Miles Risley, City Attorney. “Recruitment has been completed and we are pleased the City has found excellent personnel additions to our team,” said City Manager Ron Olson.
Alyssa Michelle Barrera, Business Liaison - Has been with the City of Corpus Christi for two years with experience in Development Services and Business Support Services. Ms. Barrera holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and is very engaged in the community including the Young Business Professionals of the Coastal Bend, Leadership Corpus Christi and other non-profits.
Belinda Mercado, Deputy Director of Municipal Information Systems - Has over 28 years in Information Technology with previous experience from the City of McAllen, USAA and Mobil Oil. Ms. Mercado holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas – Pan American, is a Certified Government Chief Information Officer and holds a Project Management Professional Certification.
Carlos Gonzalez, Director of Facilities - Has almost 20 years of experience in facility management with direct oversight of commercial, residential, industrial and public sector projects. Mr. Gonzalez holds a Master of Science degree in Community and Economic Development from University of Central Arkansas and is a licensed architect. His public sector work will aid in implementing the Facilities Plan.
