The Mayor’s Council on Aging is accepting nominations for Corpus Christi’s Greatest Treasures Award. Nominees must be a resident of Corpus Christi, be 65 years of age or older, and have made a significant difference in the lives of those they have touched.

Senior service facilities and programs work to cultivate the best quality of life for persons age 50 plus. Programs are designed for active senior adults and those faced with the challenges of mature living. You may be eligible for federal and state assistance programs for seniors.
There are eight Senior Centers located throughout Corpus Christi offering a variety of programs and activities designed to meet the social, recreational, nutritional, educational and health needs of the elderly in our community. PROGRAMS:
Nutrition ServicesNutrition Services provides meals at the eight senior centers, and home delivered meals to home-bound elderly people. A nutritionally balanced, dietitian certified lunch is served Monday through Friday. For more information on the Senior Center Meal Program, please contact the senior center nearest you. For more information on the Home Delivered Meal Program "Meals On Wheels," please call 361-826-3150.
Senior Companion ProgramThrough the Senior Companion Program (SCP),Senior Companions serve from 15 to 40 hours per week and receive hourly stipends. They must be age 55+ and meet established income eligibility guidelines. Also, numerous events are held throughout the year to recognize the Senior Companions for their dedicated service. Read more.
Corpus Christi RSVPThe Corpus Christi RSVP is federally funded by the Corporation for National and Community Services (CNCS). Since 1977, the City of Corpus Christi has been the local sponsor. Across the nation, over 500,000 volunteers bring a diverse range of experience and expertise to their communities. The RSVP program serves all of Nueces County and currently has over 800 active volunteers. RSVP staff match volunteers’ interests and schedules with several opportunities from non-profit agencies called Volunteer Stations that are registered with the RSVP program, with services including clerical and administrative duties, fundraising assistants, special project coordinators, receptionists, thrift and gift shop clerks, computer assistants, as well as numerous long term, ad-hoc or short term assignments.
