The Rental Rehabilitation Loan Program is designed to assist private investors/owners of rental properties with rehabilitating their rental units. The purpose of the program is to rehabilitate units and bring them up to current code.

The program addresses major systems such as electrical, plumbing, heating, roofing and then other required repairs. Work performed must meet building code and windstorm requirements. On major repair projects the investor/owner must obtain the services of an Architect.

The program provides a 3% interest loan amortized over 5, 10, 15, or 20 years depending on the amount of the loan. Projects involving 10 or less units have a limit of $10,000 per unit. Projects involving more than 10 units have a $5,000 per unit limit. In both cases the maximum loan limits are $100,000. In order for the units to be eligible they must be located within the city limits of Corpus Christi. The units must be made available to low income households at fair market rents.
