The Judicial Division

The Judicial Department is comprised of six full time judges and four part-time judges who oversee the adjudication process of the courtrooms in the Municipal Court and Juvenile Court facility. They conduct court arraignments where defendants make their initial pleas, as well as bench and jury trials. The judges also perform magistrate functions at the Detention Center.

The magistrate functions include administering warnings to adults and juveniles; setting bail; issuing arrest warrants, search warrants and summonses. Judges preside over bench trials, jury trials, contempt proceedings, indigence hearings, pretrials, truancy hearings and property hearings.

• Administration oversees fiscal responsibilities and records processing

Collections & Compliance Section

• Processing applications for community service and payment plans
• Prepares warrants and notices
• Acts as in-house collection agency

Courtroom Services

• Prepares complaints
• Schedules trials and hearings
• Provides clerks for courtrooms
• Prepares jury notices, subpoenas, etc.

Financial Services

• Receives and processes payments

City Marshals

• Pursues and arrests those who have failed to appear in Court when notified.
• In charge of security providing a safe environment for the Judge and the City Court staff.
• Serve process and warrants.

Magistration & Detention Center

• Magistrate services and processing those arrested by the police, until released or transported to the county jail.
