| Susan K. Thorpe was appointed Assistant City Manager – Safety, Health and Neighborhoods in March 2013. She has more than 25 years of local government management experience. Prior to her service in Corpus Christi, Ms. Thorpe served as Deputy City Manager for the City of Peoria, Arizona, and as City Manager for the City of Rowlett, Texas and the City of Bedford, Texas. Ms. Thorpe’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1981 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1989 from the University of North Texas, and she attended the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executive Program for State and Local Government in 2012. She also holds a Credentialed City Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association.
