The City Auditor's Office seeks to assist City Council and citizens in ensuring that our local government is accountable, transparent, and cost effective.

Ensuring local government is accountable, transparent and cost effective. We provide independent and objective feedback on the City's programs, activities, and functions.

Our work is vital in maintaining resident trust and confidence that city resources are used effectively and efficiently.

Our audits evaluate if the City:
  • Accomplishes its goals and objectives
  • Operates effectively, efficiently, and economically
  • Accounts for and safeguards assets from loss, damage, or inappropriate use
  • Complies with laws, regulations, established policies and procedures, and/or contract terms
  • Implements controls and promotes their effectiveness at a reasonable cost

The City Auditor is appointed by and reports to the City Council through an Audit Committee.

The Audit Committee provides guidance to and oversight of the City Auditor's Office in the performance of its responsibilities. The Audit Committee Members are appointed by the Mayor annually in January.
