The mission of the Corpus Christi Police Department Public Information Office is to provide our citizens with up to the minute, factual and thorough information about the department. Members of the Public Information Office are responsible for:
The Public Information Office utilizes Twitter, Facebook, Nixle and Word Press (CCPDBlotter.com) extensively to improve our ability to distribute accurate, thorough, and timely information to the community. Routine news stories are posted throughout the day on CCPD Blotter, a free web based “blog” available to anyone in the public without subscription.
Upcoming events or major operations are posted on both CCPD Blotter and Facebook. Emergency notifications such as major traffic wrecks, robberies, weather hazards, road closings, etc. are distributed to the community through Nixle and Twitter, both free to the public. Lastly, the Public Information Office utilizes a restricted Twitter account available only to media members to alert them of upcoming news conferences, or major breaking stories such as murders, officer involved shootings, in custody deaths, or other newsworthy incidents where the PIO will be responding.
More changes are in the works as the Public Information Office continues to report on the outstanding contributions to our community by the men and women of your Police Department.
