The Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant has had continuing issues with nuisance odors and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) monitoring has resulted in citations and required additional odor abatement. Several areas, including the dissolved air flotation (DAF) unit, needs odor minimization.

This project replaced the existing Odor Control system at the Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant that was inoperable. The replacement to the Odor Control system is required to meet the permit requirements per Texas Commission for Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The test results after completion of this project showed that the newly installed odor control system passed the performance requirements.

Construction started in July 2016 and completed in October 2017.
