Police Chief Troy Riggs |
Troy Riggs was appointed Police Chief of the Corpus Christi Police Department in October 2009. Prior to his appointment, Chief Riggs was the Assistant Chief of Police/Chief of Staff of the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Chief Riggs has over 20 years of policing experience, including merging the former Louisville Division Police and the Jefferson County Police Department into a department of approximately 1,245 uniformed officers. Along with the day-to-day activities of the Chief’s staff, he was also the commander of the Support Operations Bureau, which included the major crimes division, narcotics, and department specialty teams. Chief Riggs is known for his open management style, community policing and efficiency measures in the management of taxpayer resources.
Away from the office, he has volunteered his time as a Sunday school teacher, athletic coach, and food pantry worker.
Chief Riggs is a graduate of the University of Louisville where he earned a B.S. degree in political science. He also holds an EMBA from Sullivan University. |
