Disposal (Residential):
The Citizens Collection Center at the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station is located at 7001 Ayers Street (just south of Saratoga). Operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents will no longer dispose of any waste directly in a City landfill unless directed to do so by Solid Waste Operations staff. All commercial haulers will utilize the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station or the Cefé F. Valenzuela Landfill as directed by Solid Waste Operations staff.

Residential customers disposing of household hazardous waste, household garbage, household refuse (i.e., mattresses, clothes, furniture), large household appliances, household brush, non-commercial construction materials to include lumber, plywood, sheetrock, roofing materials, waste from demolition and remodeling work (does not include dirt, rock, concrete, brick, etc.), may use the disposal service fee of charge during normal business hours by simply presenting a valid picture identification showing an address within the city limits of Corpus Christi.  If you do not have a picture identification showing an address within the city limits or if you are not carrying a picture identification at the time of your visit, you may be asked for a current utility bill.

There is a charge for tires, construction and remodeling materials except on Free Disposal Days scheduled quarterly. Four times a year, residents can dispose of tires and construction materials for free. Click here for more information. Note: Asbestos materials will not be accepted at the landfill from residential customers. Special provisions that meet state regulations are available for commercial businesses.

All solid waste (residential or commercial) transported to the landfill must be secured and adequately covered with a tarp while being transported to the landfill. City Compliance Officers can issue a citation for loads that are not covered.

A $10.00 fee may be charged at the landfill entrance for non-covered loads.
